Patience pays

The old adage 'Patience pays' needs to be followed in letter and spirit. Its just been 36 hrs since the new government in Delhi has been sworn in and most news channels have started showing numerous problems plaguing Delhi,as if all these emerged in the past 24 hrs. These irritants have been in existence since long but it is made to appear that AAP govt is just not doing anything to address them. What about the 15 year stint of Congress (I) CM Sheila Dixit   at Delhi?? Why were the news channels not ranting about all these problems for all these years?? or had the news channels also given up on the hope of improvement during the Congress Raj??
Within the initial two days a bill has been passed to give free water to the public. Implementation takes time and one has to allow that time. After all no one became an 8 yrs old in 5 years, barring Rajnikant probably? Arvind Kejriwal and his colleagues from AAP have shown the grit, determination and strongest of all, the will to improve the governance by honest and fair means. This appears to have had most political outfits sweating as it would blow their cover of so called good governance. If AAP succeeds in its attempt then there is a threat that the public would expect similar governance model across the country facade of all other parties claiming clean governance falls flat as their means and methods differ greatly from that of AAP. News channels also allege that AAP is tackling the problems as they arise and without a plan in place, while in my opinion AAP seems to be more organised than the rest. All through their campaign AAP members appeared to have a plan in hand to tackle most of the problems. Arvind Kejriwal was fairly articulate in expressing his thoughts to address the issues ailing the governance and he had appropriate plans in place.
Now comes the issue of other parties like BJP, Congress et al aping the AAP. Rajasthan CM reduces own security cover days after Kejriwal refuses any personal security for himself, Haryana CM announces reduction of Rs 200 in power bills, Maharashtra MLA from Congress writes to the state CM (from Congress) to cut down on power tariff on lines of the same in Delhi. And then the Congress spokesperson refuses to accept that his party is aping AAP, claims that such measures are in fact the hallmark of Congress. Well, where were all these hallmark efforts before the AAP came into power? Another such incident is the tough stance taken by most political parties against their tainted /supposedly tainted members. This is also on the footsteps of AAP after it did not allow Kumar Vishwas to contest in assembly elections as a result of an accusation. Congress is desperately trying to showcase itself as a clean party. Scrapping the Augusta deal in Jan 14 appears to be an election and vote gathering gimmick after the bribe case emerged much earlier last year. The least that could be done by the Govt in power was to put the deal on hold till charges were proved right or otherwise.
AAP is yet to prove its majority in Delhi assembly and so many  problems have already been put up to Arvind Kejriwal for solutions. Come to think of it this party has put a lot of politicians and would be politicians is deep trouble for a myriad of reasons. Firstly, any party which does not support the stand of AAP would be viewed as opposing the good work of AAP and hence bad/ corrupt. Secondly, any MLA /member of AAP who quits AAP to join ay other political outfit would be viewed as tainted as none other are as clean as AAP as yet. Thirdly, with most political parties/ members aping AAP there exists a very bright chance that such reformist measures could cause a rift in the parties and break them up.
